The Rule of Law Foundation was formally established on September 16, 2013.

It was registered as a Stichting in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

 

The foundation was politically and economically fully independent. It was governed by a three-member board, and it was funded by individual Arab donors.

 

A Stichting ("foundation") in the Netherlands has notarized deeds that contain the articles of the foundation.

 

The public activities of the Stichting Rule of Law Foundationhave were suspended in May 2016, when it folded the Naame Shaam campaign. The foundation was shut down in early 2017.
